Generally used as an electrical insulating material to insulate, protect, or bundle connections, wires, and contacts.
For soldered or crimped connections, especially connections of parts with unequal diameters
Protects the contacts and electronics from short circuits and wear and tear from movement.
Another application is to hold bundles of wire together.
